It was an electrifying night of UK/ Pakistan solidarity, protest and power with Asian Dub Foundation and Laal at Alchemy Festival yesterday. ADF performed their classic roof-raisers, and Laal the poetry of Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Habib Jalib and Muhammad Iqbal – against a scene-stealing backdrop of protest reportage from Pakistan and the UK. Plus that all-important ingredient for a good night – mad, mad dancing.
