Eid Mubarak everyone! What a weekend it’s been – with family, friends, and EPIC feasting. Nihari, biryani, haleem, pulao, proper Lahore style grill to a soundtrack of Coke Studio, the chitter chatter of happy overfed people, and kids playing cricket in the background.
You can never have enough warm and fuzzies, and so how wonderful that Dishoom’s Eid party is yet to come! After its blazingly successful last year, the Eid Milan is back promising togetherness, happy vibes, and food. For this will be an Eid celebration for everyone. The big and the small, Muslims and non-, the Dishoom regulars and hopefully also the uninitiated. As ever, Dishoom will be serving up chai, mithai, soft drinks and paan. And there will be street food from the inventive Grill my Cheese, Curry On, and Mother Clucker, and a big ol’ Dishoom biryani!
There will also be mehndi walis, face painters, an art exhibition, and MUSIC. There’s an exciting line up number of (secret) musicians performing, but the headline act which has been announced is the super cool British-Bengali musician Shapla Salique, with her earthy Bengali vocals with a folksy/ jazzy/ soulful sound. Have a listen to the terrific Baula Gaan here.
See you there!
