We’re late on this – sorry. But better late than never when it comes to Caroline Issa’s stunning collection for L K Bennett. The capsule collection of shoes and handbags is decorated with delicately embroidered flower motifs inspired by traditional Thai fabrics. But to us, they look equally reminiscent of Punjabi phulkari and Kashmiri kashida embroidery, with a hint of Pakistani truck art in the neon colours – no? The stunning ‘Parrot’ ankle-strap stilettos (pictured) come with a brilliantly coloured set of pom poms which to us only enhances their South Asian/ Middle Eastern quality (see them on Olivia Palermo below). Either way, we’re loving their truly global sensibility, stemming no doubt from the designer’s own multicultural heritage (Issa is part Chinese, part Lebanese, part Iranian).
The collection includes sandals, stilettos, kitten heels, shoe boots, loafers and two versions of a clutch bag.
The collection is available online at the L K Bennett website. Also at various London stores, including those at Brook Street, Harvey Nichols, Kings Road, Knightsbridge, Marylebone, Selfridges, Sloane Square, and St Pancras Station. Prices start at £245 for the loafers.
