As part of their India Festival, the V&A are putting on a series of events, including some special musical lates. At the time of writing this post, we are fresh from the gloriousness of the first of these which featured classical music by Omkar Dadarkar in the Raphael room, and Rajasthani music and dancing from Manganiyar folk musicians. This week, it’s Indo-jazz by Arun Ghosh and band and we CAN’T WAIT! Arun Ghosh is a clarinettist and composer who fuses South Asian music with contemporary jazz, blues and hip hop to create Indo-jazz. He’s released three albums to critical praise, and been part of various international collaborations. The thought of ’Sufi Stomp (Soul of Sindh)’ wafting through the halls and corridors of the V&A is almost too much to bear. Check it out here. Oh, and did we mention it’s free…?
